ADAM ULRICH is a winner of the New York District of the 2012 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. He most recently finished a residency at Sarasota Opera where he covered the roles of Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Cassio (Otello) and Remendado (Carmen). Other engagements in the 2011-2012 season included Tamino (Die Zauberflöte) with the Muses Creative Artistry Project and featured soloist appearances with the North Carolina Symphony and the Sarasota Orchestra. As a resident artist with Opera Colorado, Adam sang Don Ramiro (La cenerentola) in a student matinee performance on the main stage. Other professional credits include the Hunter (Rusalka) with Opera Colorado, Martin (The Tender Land) with Mercury Opera Rochester, and Pong (Turandot), Gastone (La traviata) and Parpignol (La bohème) with Piedmont Opera.
As a graduate of the A. J. Fletcher Opera Institute of the UNC School of the Arts, Adam’s stage credits include Albert (Albert Herring), Leicester (Maria Stuarda), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Sam (Street Scene), Jirka (The Devil and Kate), Tigrane (Radamisto) and George Gibbs in the Southeastern premiere of Ned Rorem’s Our Town. As a young artist at the Brevard Music Center, Adam sang the title role in Candide with the Janiec Opera Company.
